RBI monetary policy pdf notes(REPO RATE,BANK RATE ETC)


  1. REPO RATE:-the rate at which RBI lends money to any commercial bank for short time period(2-90 days) is called Repo rate
  2. BANK RATE/RE-DISCOUNT RATE:-The rate at which RBI lends money to any commercial bank for long time period (91 days to 1 year)
  3. CRR(CASH RESERVE RATIO):-Every commercial bank has to deposit some percentage of its NDTL(net demand and time liability) to RBI is called CRR . RBI not give any interest on CRR at present there is no minimum or maximum limit of CRR
  4. SLR(STATUARY LIQUIDITY RATIO):-Every commercial bank has to take some percentage of its NDTL with itself in terms of cash, gold and government securities is called SLR. there  is no minimum limit of SLR and maximum limit is 40%
  5. LRR(LIQUIDITY RESERVE RATIO):- LRR = CRR + SLR
  6. REVERSE REPO RATE:- The rate at which RBI borrow money from any commercial bank for short time period to regulate the liquidity is called reverse repo rate
